Club and group camps

Our camps are not cycling holidays with a coach present. They are training camps, planned around what your group needs from the season.

We build each camp for one club or group only. You choose the dates. We set the routes and the pace for your riders, and we plan the days so the training adds up to a real block, not just kilometres.

Camps are based in Dénia, in the Marina Alta region of the Costa Blanca. Groups are small on purpose: never more than 10 riders, so every rider gets real attention from the coaches. Bigger clubs come in separate weeks.

Who it is for

  • Cycling clubs planning a spring or autumn training block

  • Teams and groups of friends who train together

  • Riders of different levels: we plan the pace and routes around your group

What a camp involves

A club camp is usually 10 days (9 hotel nights): guided group rides every riding day, a support scooter on the road, daily briefings and one seminar day on nutrition and power data. Groups stay at a partner hotel in Dénia with half board. We handle airport transfers for riders, bikes and luggage on arrival and departure day; transfers at other times cost extra. Your proposal sets out exactly what is included. Not included: flights, car hire and travel insurance.

What we tailor to your group

  • Dates. Spring or autumn, to fit your season.

  • Pace and routes. Planned for your riders’ level, with regroup points on every climb.

  • Training focus. Base building, climbing, or preparation for a goal event.

  • Language. Our working language is English, unless we agree otherwise, so everyone in the group always understands what is being said. A Norwegian-speaking guide is available for any club: an experienced cyclist who has been on several of our camps, there to bridge any language gap, guide the rides and look after the riders.

  • Testing. Optional lactate testing on the road for groups of at least 4 riders (see below).

How it works

  1. Enquire. Send us a few details about your group with the form below.

  2. Call. We talk with your club leader about dates, level and goals.

  3. Proposal. You receive a tailored proposal: price, what is included and a day-by-day roadbook.

  4. Deposit. A 25% deposit secures your dates.

Price on request: every proposal is built for your group.

Why clubs train with us

Ten riders, two coaches

Every group is capped at 10 riders on purpose: five pairs, two coaches. That is the size at which we can watch every rider on every climb and keep the quality of each day. Bigger clubs come in separate weeks.

Riders go home with numbers

The seminar day reviews each rider’s power data from the camp. Add the lactate test and every rider also leaves with personal training zones and a fuelling plan.

Coaches who know the sport and the roads

Jānis Mūsiņš has coached athletes at the Beijing 2022 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games and the Paris 2024 Paralympics, and is the Latvian Cycling Federation’s Coach of the Year 2024. He lives on the Costa Blanca and has led camps on the Costa Blanca since 2013. Dana Rožlapa, 10× Latvian national time trial champion and still racing at elite level, rides in the group and sets the pace.

Support on every ride

Jānis follows every ride on a support scooter with tools, food and water, and photographs the group on the climbs.

Dénia and the Marina Alta

Quieter than Calpe and Altea, with the same great climbs: Coll de Rates, Bèrnia and the Vall d’Ebo. Dénia hosted a Vuelta stage start in 2023, and the 2026 Vuelta’s queen stage raced on the roads we ride.

A camp day

  1. Morning: 30 minutes of core and mobility to start the day.

  2. Breakfast, then the day’s briefing.

  3. Group ride, with coffee stops built in. Dana sets the pace in the group; Jānis follows on the scooter.

  4. Afternoon: back at the hotel to recover.

  5. Before dinner: mobility and stretching.

  6. Evening: group dinner, then a short review of the day and the plan for tomorrow.

Both mobility sessions are part of the programme for everyone. Camp days are long, and these sessions keep you riding well and help prevent overuse injuries.

One seminar day in the middle of the camp, with no ride: training and racing nutrition, and what your power data from the camp tells you.

Lactate testing on the road

Most riders train by FTP alone. At camp we can measure what sits behind it.

On Day 1 or 2, while legs are fresh, we test each rider on a steady climb near Dénia. A step test with small finger-prick blood samples, plus a short sprint, gives us the lactate data for a full INSCYD metabolic profile. If the weather is bad, we test indoors on a smart trainer.

What you get

  • LT1 and LT2: your lower and upper lactate thresholds, measured directly in your blood. Lactate is the purest physiological marker we have.

  • VLamax and how much fat and carbohydrate you burn at every intensity

  • Training zones based on your own physiology, ready for TrainingPeaks

  • A fuelling plan for long rides

  • A personal debrief with Jānis, plus a group seminar on the rest day

Testing is an optional add-on for groups of at least 4 riders. The price is included in your proposal.

Already on a camp nearby? We also run testing days for clubs staying on the Costa Blanca.
